Providence College and Theological Seminary

Providence College and Seminary is a Christian academic community in the evangelical tradition that teaches people to grow in knowledge and character for leadership and service. We offer accredited graduate degree programs in Ministerial Training, Theological Studies, and Counseling, and accredited undergraduate degree programs in the Liberal Arts and Professional Studies. Providence is an interdenominational school governed by a Board of Directors, elected from the Corporation which represents the supporters of the School. The College and Seminary student body includes a diversity of denominations; Pentecostal, Baptist, Mennonite and Evangelical Free are among the majority.

Over the years Providence has distinguished itself with alumni who had a significant influence in the evangelical movement in Western Canada and beyond. These include Henry Hildebrand, founder of Briercrest, Erwin Lutzer, Senior Pastor of The Moody Church in Chicago, and Andrew Karsgaard, medical missionary with The Evangelical Alliance Mission and founder of a hospital in Pakistan.

Providence stimulates over $19 million annually in economic activity in Manitoba. With 400 full-time equivalent college students, 200 full-time equivalent seminary students, and 34 regular faculty members, Providence is the largest self-standing Christian educational institution in the province. We are a Christian academic community in the evangelical tradition that teaches people to grow in knowledge and character for leadership and service.

Bilingual Community Learning Project

The Bilingual Community Learning Project's goal is to coordinate training opportunities that meet the employment needs in southeast Manitoba. Each individual's needs are taken into consideration, with a particular focus on the unemployed, the underemployed and of employers themselves. Individuals are prepared to find gainful employment and fill the ever-changing needs of employers.

We are looking to expand and offer community and personal enhancement courses such as computer courses, management courses and art classes in both French and English.

A proposal is being prepared to include an Adult Learning Centre.

This Bilingual Community Learning Project is coordinated by Chaboillé Community Development Corporation, in conjunction with the Community Employment and Resource Centre (CERC). It is in its initial stages.
